2003-2004 Season

I thought this would be a good place to leave you with a little bit of great New England humor. Please scroll down the page to find the festival at Prince Edward Island. I hope this page makes it a little easier to find where to go this year for good bluegrass music.

I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local
township administrative office to request the removal of the Deer Crossing
sign on our road. The reason: many deer were being hit by cars and he no
longer wanted them to cross there.

My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the
individual behind the counter for "minimal lettuce." He said he was sorry,
but they only had iceberg.

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate, when the airport employee
asked, "Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?" I
said, "If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?" He smiled and
nodded knowingly, "That's why we ask."

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it is safe to cross the street. I was
crossing with an intellectually challenged co-worker of mine, when she asked
if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals to blind
people when the light is red. She responded, appalled, "What on earth are
blind people doing driving?"

I worked with an Individual who plugged her power strip back into itself and
for the life of her could not understand why her system would not turn on.

Thanksgiving Day was approaching, and a family had received a
Thanksgiving card with a painting of a pilgrim family on its way
to church.

Grandma showed the card to her small grandchildren, observing,
"The pilgrim children liked to go to church with their mothers
and fathers."

"Oh, yeah?" her grandson replied, "so why is their dad carrying
that rifle?"

Friday Morning Band Showcase:
- Audience select winners
- Open to bluegrass & Oldtime Acts
- Advanced Registration Only required by calling 902-569-3153
- Last act to register, first act to perform (register early)
- Performers of participating groups receive a weekend
(pass an extra weekend pass for an accompanying guest)
- Winner gets a paid set ($500) on Sunday afternoon plus a contract offer to perform the
following year.

Routes will be marked with signs:
A. Coming from Jourimain Island, NB - Cross the Confederation Bridge to Borden, PEI
Stay on Route #1 to Charlottetown (56 km)
Then take Route #2 to Rollo Bay (76km)
B. Coming from Caribou, NS - Take the ferry to Wood Islands, PEI (22 km crossing)
Take Route #315 to Montague (25 km)
Take Route #4 to Dingwells Mills
Then take Route #2 to Rollo Bay (8 km)
